muveeStar feature: Greetings from Genova
[SWF]http://www.muveemix.com/flash/muveeloader.swf, 332, 312, muveeid=14392[/SWF]
A group of comedians from Genova, Italy put together a muvee of their performance - La Notte del Big Remescio (”The night of the the Big Remescio” was what Babelfish translated it to be.) A bunch of pretty interesting folks from what I see. Look forward to seeing more videos from you guys, maybe a funny muvee next? I think pairing comedic footage with bright and shiny music like those of ‘Saloon Rag’ would send some giggles to everyone’s day…

Justine picked us up
muveeMix was picked by Justine magazine as their ‘FaveMediaSite’ for the month of January ‘07. And I’m pleasantly surprised when I got mails from users commenting that they would never have known about this cool service if not for the article snippet. Kudos Justine! *big smiles*

CollegeFest’s muveeStars
Yes, it took us awhile to go through all the great auditions of muveeStar hopefuls at CollegeFest’06 in Boston - muveeMix’s first ever show. We hope everyone had fun strutting their stuff in front of our camera. Check this out and see if you can spot yourself or your buds.
And after much squabbling among ourselves (we all have our personal favorites), we finally picked the new owners of a HP Notebook, a Nikon S6 camera and an Aiptek camera.

The Breakdancers [Spencer Linick & Andrew Dwyer]

The rapper gals [Brooke Nathanson & Brittany Lyte]

The Phat Girls [Alicia Wise & Catherine Walper]
Gratz guys! Keep mixing!

Limelight Networks supplies CDN
We’re very proud to announce the immediate upgrade of our muveeMix network architecture. Thanks to the guys from Limelight Networks your muvees are now served via our CDN. This will bring your productions one step closer to the target audience so that they can enjoy them without the usual jitter caused by network latency.
The news report on Limelight’s website has the following to say:
“Optimized for high-performance delivery of vast amounts of rich media, Limelight Networks enables muvee to quickly and reliably respond to high user demand for its software and new online video mixing service as consumers embrace its innovative new video technology.”
For example, imagine that someone in Europe watches your muvee; at the same time, this muvee will be transferred to a server closest to that visitor. When more people around that area watch your muvee they don’t have to download it from our server directly; instead they can download it from its cached location on the CDN.
This feature doesn’t increase the upload speed to our website when you’re sending photos and videos across. Nevertheless, we hope you’ll be happy with this network improvement, and in the meantime we’ll be working behind the scenes to make your experience with muveeMix as positive as possible.
