muvee Reveal now available through retailer's e-store

San Francisco, Calif – Oct. 11, 2010muvee, the pioneer and leader in home movie making software and services, today announced that Terence Swee, co-founder and CEO of muvee, has been chosen to speak as a thought-leader in online video at the US Department of State’s Conference for all global Public Affairs Officers (PAOs).

Swee will speak on the panel “Video and the Power of Digital Entertainment” and will be joined by Jason Rzepka, of MTV, and Courtney Kuhl, of YouTube.  Swee was asked to join the panel based on his expertise in the consumer video editing space.  muvee creates automatic video editing software that allows the average consumer to create and share professional-looking videos in minutes and upload them online in a click.

Swee has been asked speak to the estimated 250 PAOs on the importance of online video to reach and teach audiences both personally and professionally, as well as how easily creating videos for these purposes has become with affordable, automated software like muvee’s muvee Reveal.

"Video has become the preferred platform for telling a compelling story quickly and effectively," Terence Swee, muvee CEO, emphasized.  "Creating an engaging and memorable video does not have to be hard, expensive or time consuming.   Our goal is to show the nation's public affairs officers that simple yet powerful tools are now available to them to make their messages informative and impactful to viewers in their respective countries.  Great videos are as effective for government agencies as they are for your friends and family."

Last year’s Gov 2.0 Taskforce made recommendations on governments using social media, social networks, videos and blogs, and Web transactions to serve and connect with citizens.  However, according to a recently-released survey of employees working in federal, state and local government, conducted by StrategyOne Research for Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), nearly one-quarter of government IT professionals still don’t know what Gov 2.0 entails. Despite the lack of awareness, 80 percent of the respondents believe their agency will enact a comprehensive strategy for Gov 2.0 sometime within the next two years.

The conference will be held Oct. 12-15th at the U.S. Department of State, George C. Marshall Center, 2201 C St NW, Washington DC 20520. Terence Swee will be speaking on the panel “Video and the Power of Digital Engagement” Friday, October 15th from 2-3 P.M.
